top winter facials

With the sun on hiatus, winter is the best time to treat skin concerns, slowly. With less humidity and a more fragile canvas, we tend to treat one thing at a time, enforcing home care instructions even more so. Downtime becomes less of an issue with greater time spent indoors, and so laser treatment and serious resurfacing (goodbye pigmentation!) is the perfect choice. And of course, anything hydrating is a true hero as the chill kicks in.

These are MISS FRANC’s top facials for wintertime.

Cosmelan:

Cosmelan is a professional depigmentation method which has an intensive corrective effect on skin hyperpigmentation whilst regulating the overproduction of melanin in the melanocytes, inhibiting, and controlling the appearance of new dark spots.

“The Cosmelan method is world-recognised when it comes to effectively reducing the appearance of melasma, sun damage and hyperpigmentation caused by sun, pregnancy and acne in particular. From a light to dark complexion, Cosmelan can be used to target pigmentation and return skin tone back its unblemished state. I recommend having two treatments in the first year, then turning it up a notch with a stronger dose,” says Francine.

Of course, with such epic results, there is associated down time.

“Don’t be fooled by its power, there is at least 7 - 10 days of downtime (and that’s with regular, non-sensitive skin types!).” A perfect choice between June and August when greater time is spent indoors.

“This said, we have our tricks and techniques to really accelerate the recovery process including custom home care and a signature mix of light therapy,” says Francine.

Skin Needling/Dermapen:

Sidestep the drying effects of winter with this popular treatment to keep skin fresh and rejuvenated.

“Plastic surgeons and dermatologists originally developed the Dermapen treatment as a non-surgical method of tissue rejuvenation and regeneration,” says Francine.

Today, MISS FRANC utilises skin needling to promote natural collagen induction by harnessing the body’s ability to regrow and repair the skin. The Dermapen facial treats sun damage, fine lines, uneven skin texture, large pores, stretch marks, acne scars and much more.

MISS FRANC notes that 3 – 6 treatments are required before real, visible improvement.

Why best in winter? To combat drying of course, but also, prolonged sun exposure is warned against for up to one-week post-treatment.

Byonik:

There’s no treatment quite like the Byonik Laser Facial when it comes to boosting hydration at a cellular level. Throughout the treatment hyaluronic acid is infused deep into the epidermis to nourish and rejuvenate the skin. One of our most popular treatments at MISS FRANC.
